Industry News UK: Unilever Ventures joins JML in backing disruptive health and beauty innovator, Brand Evangelists For Beauty

Brand Evangelists for Beauty Ltd (BE) is a health and beauty goods start up which was founded by ex-Boots executives Mark Curry and Collette Newberry.

Unilever Ventures (UV), the venture capital and private equity arm of consumer goods giant Unilever PLC, joins JML, the innovative consumer products company, in acquiring a stake in the health and beauty goods start up, Brand Evangelists For Beauty Ltd (BE).

BE was founded by ex-Boots executives Mark Curry and Collette Newberry. The company was subsequently partly acquired by JML in June 2017, who took a 54 per cent stake at that time. JML provide operational support as well as funding for BE.

UV have injected an undisclosed sum into BE to assist JML and the founders to fuel rapid growth of the company. BE has already launched three new beauty brands and seven more are due for launch in 2018 both in the UK and internationally, including the USA. Social media is the primary medium for targeting consumers. BE’s stated mission is to be the world’s fastest beauty innovator.
